Session Three - 1.30pm - 2.20pm

How many of your loyal customers leave a show, exhibition or event without ever making a donation? Across the arts sector, fundraisers are building organisational resilience and identifying new donors by revolutionising their organisation approach to low-level giving.

In this session, you’ll hear from Anne and Danielle on how you can develop a strategy which maximises unrestricted income, uses data to drive decision making, and implements a shared organisation-wide approach to fundraising. We’ll also look at how you can use digital channels to make dynamic asks, identify and analyse donor touchpoints, and help inform digital engagement for future cultivation.

Impact measurement is a way to gain a deeper understanding of the value an organisation is adding. For fundraisers, this helps with strengthening messaging, improving relationships with current funders and even providing routes to new funders through identifying different outcomes.

So how do you go about it? In this session, we’ll demystify impact measurement with some interactive exercises looking at how to start impact measurement in the context of your organisation, using a heritage organisation as an example. We’ll also be hearing from Moira Lambert, Head of Fundraising and Marketing at Orpheus Centre, who will be reflecting on her experience with impact and what it has offered to her organisation with some tips for making the most of the process.

Humour is essential in business today as it is in our personal lives. Find ways to present yourself in a more relaxed, authentic style and develop your own personal story.  Improve your self-confidence and esteem, communicate more effectively and memorably, and find out how to engage with passion.

(Please note: Spaces for this session are strictly limited. This session will be repeated at 2.20pm)

A fundamental quality of fundraisers who raise a lot of money is the ability to keep going in spite of difficulties. In working with more than 10,000 fundraisers over 12 years as a coach and trainer, Rob has found that anyone can grow their resilience.

In this energising session Rob will share 3 resilience-boosting techniques, including:

  • How to bounce back more quickly
  • How to be optimistic about your most challenging projects
  • The simple trick guaranteed to reduce the cortisol – the stress hormone – in your system, in under two minutes.

In the first part of this two part Corporate Giving Masterclass Rebecca sits down with a panel of corporate advisors and fundraisers to take the pulse of corporate philanthropy today. With low public trust in large businesses to what extent is corporate social responsibility simply a means of improving reputation? Will the country’s decision to leave the EU impact on business sponsorship?
